Contribution Guidelines
Everything you need to know before submitting fursuits and builder information to the database.
General Submission Rules
The Fursuit Database is a community-driven project. To keep data accurate and useful, all submissions are reviewed against the following rules:
- Only submit fursuits or builders that actually exist in the community.
- Provide as much accurate information as possible — name, species, owner, and builder(s).
- Use the correct spelling and capitalization for all names and titles.
- Credit all builders involved in creating a fursuit, not just the primary maker.
- Do not submit duplicates — search the database first to check if the entry already exists.
- Do not submit fictional, AI-generated, or placeholder entries.
- Do not submit someone else's private suit without their permission.
Fursuit Submissions
When submitting a new fursuit, the following information is required:

Photo Requirements
Photos help the community identify and appreciate each fursuit. Please follow these guidelines:

- Use publicly available photos or photos you have permission to share.
- Do not upload blurry, heavily filtered, or low-resolution images.
- Do not upload photos that contain personal identifying information.

Builder Information
When adding or updating a builder entry, include:
- The builder's official studio or maker name.
- Their website or social media link (if publicly available).
- Commission status (open or closed) — keep this updated.
- A sample portfolio of their work (photos of suits they have built).
- Do not add personal contact details (phone, home address, private email).
- Do not create duplicate builder entries — check existing records first.
Moderation & Quality Control
All submissions are subject to review by database moderators:
- Incomplete or inaccurate submissions may be rejected or returned for corrections.
- Submissions that violate community guidelines will be removed.
- Repeat offenders may lose submission privileges.
- Approved submissions typically appear in the database within 24–48 hours.
